You’ll walk through tunnels, emerge to beautiful atrium views, admire (or critique) public art, pass an ice-skating rink the middle of a food court, see Montreal’s Metro, and even discover how a mall was constructed underneath a Church placed upon stilts. Along the way you’ll learn why the Montreal Underground City network is so vital to the city’s economy.
The finishing touch
The tour ends with an optional unparalleled view of Montreal at the Au Sommet Place Ville Marie Observation Deck where you’ll ride the elevator up to the 45th floor. You’ll observe the Saint Lawrence River, Mount Royal, Old Montreal, Quartier des spectacles, the Olympic Stadium tower to name a few, and your guide will be right there with you to point out the most interesting sights and neighbourhoods.
Best activity for a cold day
On those cold wintry days, you’ll be happy to be warm inside discovering a whole new world – or underworld – of Montreal, and be thankful not to get lost down there on your own.

My husband and I booked this tour because it was going to a frigidly cold weekend. The tour was fascinating. Underground is so much more than malls. Guide was very knowledgeable and showed us not only underground but also above-ground but inside art and other interesting facts. Highly recommended!
